What‘s Up? I‘m AJ. I have a knack for all things related to design as well as over four years experience as a freelance designer. I am currently embarking on my second summer as a web design intern at the Away Network (Orbitz World Wide) in Washington, DC. Most of the work I produce includes carefully crafted pixels. I design websites, posters, brochures, and identities while often times doubling as an illustrator, art director, and self proclaimed philosopher.

I don‘t take myself too seriously but I do like to be challenged. A wise man recently said that there is nothing worse than a man who does not challenge themselves creatively.

I was responsible for the implementation and design of 9 different travel guides that are available to individuals who book trips via Orbitz.com.

Hotel Le Bleu was in need of a booklet design that would be available to its patrons upon check in. The book is a makeshift guide to Brooklyn.

I have been involved in design ever since I can remember. The first project I ever embarked on was a logo design for my Father‘s company at the age of 13. I then moved on to bigger and better things like powerpoint presentations with the fancy “blind“ animations and developed my first website by the time I was 14. When I got to high school I took several art classes and discovered AutoCad. I had a brief hiatus from design when I first entered college. I decided for some odd reason that being an investment banker was my calling in life. I later couldn‘t fight fate and decided to change my major to graphic design and to minor in finance. I mastered Photoshop, learned Illustrator, Indesign, and the basics of how to code html/css within a year‘s time. Now that I have graduated I am pursuing a career doing what I have been unknowingly doing my entire life and that is designing.
